Overview

The Quick Promotion Team at Facebook was having difficult with getting conversions from their QP prompts. The goal was to get feedback from individuals who live in rural areas or were minorities, what parts of Facebook worked and where they could improve. The request itself was not getting a lot of clicks so they wanted some illustration to go with the text to make if feel more warm and appealing. In an effort to get user engagement two illustrations were created for two different types of requests. One prompt was a question while the other was a statement, both however were saying the same thing, but needed different illustrations to capture the voice of each prompt.

The Illustrations

The first user request was presented as a question, "Can you help us improve Facebook?" The illustration that was decided on was Lady with a Plant. The idea of Facebook being abstracted into something that need care taking and nourishment like a plant resonated with the client.

The Second user request was a statement; "We need your help to improve Facebook." This illustration featured a line up of individuals looking to the future. The idea of unity  and strength was also present in this illustration, both of which we wanted the user to feel.

Dark Mode

With Both of the Illustrations selected we needed to explore color ways and make sure that they were compatible with dark mode. Converting dark hues to light and out lining dark shapes that needed to remain dark, dark mode compatibility was made possible.
